Live-in Care with ALHomecare – An Overview

Note: We refer to the carer below as “she” because most of our carers are female but we also have male carers.

ALHomecare specialises in live-in care. All of our carers are live-in. The carer comes and lives with your relative in your relative’s own home. She is there at night for your relative’s comfortable and reassurance or in case of an emergency and by day she does house-keeping, prepares meals, keeps company and provides personal care, if required.

The live-carer normally works between 5 and 6 days per week and between 7 and 8 hours per day. She can break her working day up into blocks of time for example 2 hours in the morning, 3 hours in the afternoon and 2 hours in the evening. This way she is able to work around what help your relative is getting from the HSE in terms of HSE homehelp.

Note: We also supply live-in carers who provide active night time care and rest by day.

All of our carers are Garda-vetted and reference-checked and provided with ongoing training and support.

All of our placements come with a 3 week trial period. So you have the first 3 weeks to make sure you are happy with the carer we have supplied. If you are happy then we will stay in contact with you and the carer right throughout the placement to make sure everything stays on track.

Our carer costs from 485 euro per week with free accommodation and food for the carer. That’s for our Carer Plus carer, our most popular grade of carer. That 485 euro per week with free accommodation and food is in exchange for the carer sleeping in your relative’s home up to 7 nights per week and for doing 5 days work, 7 hours per day. If you want the carer to do more than 5 days, 7 hours per day, she can do up to 6 days, 8 hours per day, if required. The overtime rate for the Carer Plus grade carer is 12 euro gross per hour.

If you are not happy with the carer we supplied and we are unable to resolve the issue, then we will either offer you a free replacement carer or we will refund you the placement fee.

Most of our placements are successful. And we will use our near 8 years experience in this business to make sure we get it right first time for your relative.
